Associate Marriage and Family Therapist - CA #164734
Supervised by a licensed person.
Let's be honest. Looking for a therapist can be intimidating. You're scrolling through profile after profile, wondering, Who is this person? Can I trust them? Will they understand me? Are we even going to click? Those are fair questions. My goal is to make therapy feel less intimidating by creating a space where you can be yourself, feel heard, and rediscover hope, even when life feels overwhelming.
My Story: I came to this profession later in life. Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 20 years working in retail, customer service, nonprofit organizations, and leadership. Returning to college as an adult was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it reminded me that it's never too late to change. Helping people has always been the most meaningful part of every job I've had, and becoming a therapist was a natural next step.
Client Focus: I enjoy working with people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, I'll meet you where you are with warmth, honesty, and respect. I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where everyone feels heard, including LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, and people of all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds.
Approach to Therapy: I use a person-centered approach that draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Logotherapy, and Existential Therapy. I tailor therapy to each person's unique needs, helping clients find meaning, build on their strengths, and rediscover hope. I also incorporate play therapy techniques when working with children.
Outside the Office: When I'm not in the office, you'll probably find me spending time with my wife, friends, and family, playing board games or Magic: The Gathering, exploring the outdoors, traveling, or sharing a good meal filled with laughter. If you've made it this far, thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me. I hope we have the opportunity to connect soon.
